I am still up

So it is 3 in the morning and I can't seem to fall asleep. I tired to listen to Gabe Bondoc and that didn't help at all. So I have decided to just write a bunch of randomness.

1. I can't believe 2010 is almost over! Where did the year go?

2. SDSU basketball is currently ranked 25th

3. I would like to go back to 3rd or 4th grade. There was no stressing when you are that old

4. I still have yet to fully fill my closet

5. Give me chemistry over bio any day

6. I really think that I would be able to watch ESPN all day

7. I have come to realize that the stereotypical guys really get on my nerves

8. I am slowly getting use to the taste of beer

9. Everyone seems to be shocked when I tell them that I am 22. Man I am getting old

10. I plan to try to make it to every State basketball game that I can

1. Do you color? If you do, is it with markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc.?

I actually don't color that often, but when I do I prefer to color with color pencils. I just don't have enough patience to make my picture look super nice.

2. What's the most organized part (or system) in you house?

I would have to say my closet. From left to right: my dress shirts, than my short sleeves divided by color, than than short sleeve polos divided by color, than long sleeve polos divided by colors, than my long sleeve thermals divided by colors, than my henleys divided by colors, than my sweaters/track jackets with zippers divided by colors, and lastly are my hoodies (and yes you guessed it, they are divided by colors). Then on the top of my closet are my shoes. From left to right: Jordans, Nikes, Vans, and than others.

3. What's the most unorganized part (or system) in your house?

I have to go with my school supply draw. I have a bunch of pencils, erasers, pens, a stapler, note cards, and other school stuff that just seems to be everywhere in the draw. I do know where to find everything though. =)

4. If you had unlimited amounts of time & money, what museum would you want to see and why?

I am not sure if this really counts as a museum, but I would really like to see the Giza Pyramids. I learned about them earlier in the semester and they are really amazing. All of the things that are incorporated into it (like how true north it follows) is an amazing thing given the technology they had back than.

5. What is your favorite part of the fall season?

I think since living in San Diego for a little over four years now, I have come to like the cold when fall rolls around. I have realized that I really like wearing jeans and a thermal/henley for some reason. I also like the cold because it is easier to keep warm than it is to keep cool in the heat.

6. Did you dress up for Halloween?

Nope. I haven't dressed up for Halloween since 6th grade maybe? Can't really remember.

7. Have you started Christmas shopping?

Nope again. I am barely thinking about Thanksgiving. School is taking way too much of my time and is taking over my life. My friend and I did look up engineering jokes today though. One of my favorites was: Dating an engineering is a good thing because they know how to deal with stress and strain in a relationship. Yes I know I am a geek =)

8. Do you crack you knuckles?

Every now and than. I used to do it a lot in high school but I stopped since than. I tend to crack my back a lot though.

9. If you had to live in another city for a year (all expenses paid), which city would you choose?

This is a hard one for me. I can't see my self living outside of California (if all expenses are paid I would want to go somewhere I have never been before), but I guess I would have to say Chicago. I would go visit the United Center all the time and go to Bull's games. I am a basketball junkie

10. Do you have any reoccurring dreams?

Nope. I can barely even remember what I dream about after I wake up.

Music

I wanted to blog but couldn't think of what to blog about. So I decided to blog about music.

I love how music can so easily relate to our current moods or situations. There always seems to be a song that one can find whenever they find themselves in any kind of mess. Songs can say how we are feeling in the good and bad times. It definitely makes the hard times go by a lot easier. I would be so lost without music in my life.

Today I turned in my keys to La Jolla Crossroads. I am officially living in my new place near SDSU!!!! I am excited and nervous about this whole thing. I know it will be a good thing for me because it is going to force me out of my comfort zone and it will allow me to experience new things. So I am both excited and nervous for all of these unknown new things. It is just going to add onto the growth of myself and the things that I have learned already through the first half of this year. I just can't wait for what the rest of this year brings!!!

Trying

These past few days have definitely been interesting, but in a good way. I have been hit with various situations in just the past few days, but with some help I am learning what kind of person I really am and the things that I can still work on about myself. I have seen now that even though I continually put others before myself, I still need to be willing to accept help when it is given. I need to be able to put my guard down and allow those who care for me to be able to help me when they can. This will be difficult for me though because it makes me feel as if I am being a selfish person by wanting the attention and the help. This just means though that I need to work on my perspective on the whole thing, which I am consciously going to try to improve on. Just because people are willing to lend a hand, does not mean I am being a selfish person by accepting that hand.

The situation that arose today has also shed light on the person that I am becoming. I always try to be a fair person, but when it seems that comprises can't be reached, decisions must be made. This doesn't mean that things have to end ugly, but it just means that the easiest thing for everyone may be to go separate ways. It has been a lot to process so far, but I am trying.

I have also learned that I really don't hold any grudges against anyone. I am now trying to build a new friendship with someone whom I have had no type of relationship whatsoever with since high school. We both know that all of the past mistakes no longer matter and that they truly are all in the past. It is pointless to dwell on the things that happened because we both have grown up and are no longer immature students. I have no idea where this road will go, but I am excited to have an old friend back and I know it will be better than it was in the past.

Trying to process this all has been a whirl wind for me. I think my head is still spinning from trying to wrap my mind around everything. But it is an amazing thing to see the type of person you are and the things that you could work on about yourself. If we weren't able to grow as people, it would be super boring.

I hope this all made sense. I have so many thoughts running through my head right now and I don't know if I was able to fully get it out on here.

I discovered this song this morning and haven't been able to stop listening to it. So I decided to type up the lyrics (couldn't find them online) and I think they are right for the most part. I just really like it because we do tend to get caught up with the things of everyday life. We get distracted by school, work, relationships, and everything else imaginable. The thing I took from this song is that no matter how much we get caught up in life, we need to make sure that we are always trying to love those around us (not the easiest thing to do). Just to focus on the basics of God, family, friends, and those in need. But I hope you enjoy the lyrics. Just Wanted To Say Thank You

I was trying to think of something to blog about, but couldn't come up with anything. So since I came up empty, I am just dedicating this blog to my family and friends.

Although I may not say it often enough, I love you all and would not know what I would do with out all of you in my life.

To my family: Thank you for always supporting me and guiding me in the decisions that I have made in my life. Things would not have gone as smoothly without your help. Although I may not be home very often, please know that I do think about you daily and that you are all missed. Love you!!

To my friends from home: I know we aren't as close as we used to be in high school, but I still treasure our friendship. I know that I can call any of you whenever I run into a problem and that you will be there for me in a heartbeat. High school would have definitely sucked without you all.

To my friends in San Diego: I definitely wouldn't be where I am today without all of you. You have made the college transition easier than I could have ever hoped for. Although a majority of my family and friends are back home, I consider you my second family. I know that I can come to you with any of my problems and that I will get a listening ear. It is a scary thing to think about my life in SD without any of you.

To Margie and Rafa (the special case): You two fall under "family" and "friends from SD." See Rafa, I consider you family. You have had a large impact on my life here in San Diego and I am grateful for everything you do. Thank you for introducing me to EC and all of the countless hours spent hanging out and doing homework at your place. Love you guys!
